Event Details

On Saturday, April 5th at 6 pm, St. Mark’s Lutheran Church invites you to a Welcome Neighbor STL Supper Club to support refugee families in St. Louis. Enjoy food, conversation, and catching up with friends – old and new. From cultural exchange to just plain fun, look forward to a great evening.

These meals present an opportunity for refugee families to share knowledge and skills unique to them. It is also an opportunity for us to get a glimpse into their culture. These fundraising efforts can set them on a path of greater independence and confidence in their lives here in the USA.

Carryout option is available: You can also pick up your meals from 6:30 pm to 8 pm. Please specify your pickup option when placing your order.

Feel free to bring your own alcoholic beverage if desired.

THANK YOU.

A popular street food and a crowd pleaser. Flatbread made of unleavened dough that is stuffed and pan fried, but its real beauty comes from the vegetable stuffing inside. Basmati rice cooked with onion, saffron, black pepper, cardamom, coriander, and cumin. Topped with raisins, nuts and julienned carrots.

MANTU (AFGHAN DUMPLING):

Similar to a wonton dumpling and filled with lentils, tomatoes, onion, ground beef, coriander, and cumin. Drizzled with yogurt and tomato sauce.

ASHAK:

Fresh pasta filled with scallions, leeks and cilantro. served with yogurt/garlic sauce. Seasoned with coriander, turmeric and cayenne pepper, sprinkled with mint.

GOSH E-FIL:

Known as elephant’s ear is a fried sweet pastry with dough made from flour, milk, eggs, and sugar. These crunchy pastries are also sprinkled with powdered cardamom, icing sugar, and crushed pistachios.
