Welcome Neighbor STL is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator who will assist in managing volunteer programming for family partnering, supper club events, cooking classes, and ESL. This position works directly with staff, volunteers, and community partners.

Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

Reports to: Executive Director

Status: Part-time

Compensation: This is a one-time contracted position for the period of May 1, 2023 through September 30, 2023.  $10,000 provided throughout the duration of contract. $2,000 a month, $17.00 an hour, 29.5 hours per week. There is no guarantee of contract renewal after September 30, 2023. 

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage volunteer opportunities for Welcome Neighbor STL
  • Attend in-person events at STL Foodworks, schools, libraries, religious institutions, and other locations to represent WNSTL to share information and details about programming. Limit to 2-3 per week.
  • Work with Supper Club Coordinators to help schedule volunteers for Cooking Classes and Supper Club events
  • Work with Family Support Coordinators to recruit volunteers for Family Partnering Program
  • Work with ESL Coordinators to recruit volunteers for ESL programming
  • Work with START (St Louis Teens Aid Refugees Today) and HumanKIND STL to promote identify and promote volunteer opportunities
  • Compile volunteers’ info from sign-up genius and label them by tasks/volunteer type (Family Partners, Delivering Homeless Meals, Cooking Class Volunteers, Drive-Thru Volunteers, ESL Volunteers, Volunteers to Help Move Refugee Families, etc.)
  • Post Volunteer Opportunities on Signup Genius and United Way Website stlvolunteer.org and justserve.org
  • Help update resource directory to provide assistance to volunteers
  • Identifying stories, stats, and other items to publicly showcase
  • Recognize volunteers on social media and website blogs
  • Solicit free passes and tickets for volunteers and refugee families for group events
  • Assist in creating weekly email blast through Mailchimp
  • Replying to external calls, emails, messages within 48 hours.
  • Attend weekly staff meetings with Executive Director 
  • Create a report for bi-monthly Board Meetings
  • Assist with monthly grant report for this position

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong leadership and team development skills
  • Possesses a positive outlook and can-do problem-solving attitude
  • Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions under stressful circumstances
  • Solid written and verbal communications
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Docs, Zoom, Signup Genius, Monday.com
  • Communicate with volunteers and refugees and keep key items confidential to protect personal information of clients served
  • Confidence and Comfortability with speaking at public events on the behalf of Welcome Neighbor STL about volunteer opportunities
