Welcome Neighbor STL is seeking an Executive Director who will oversee the strategic vision and lead all Welcome Neighbor STL programming. This position works with staff, volunteers, media, donors, and community partners.

Position Title: Executive Director

Reports to: Board of Directors and will work directly with Founder for training, relationship building, and mentoring.   

Status: Full-time

Compensation: This full-time position is 40 hours a week, $64,000 a year, $33.33 an hour/$5,333.33 a month.

Responsibilities:

  • Represents WNSTL with enthusiasm, confidence, and collaborative spirit.
  • Experience working with the underserved or non-profit background major plus.
  • Responsible for the financial, operational, and administrative performance of WNSTL.
  • Plans, develops, and establishes policy and objectives of the organization in accordance with Board directives and organizational mission.
  • Forge new collaborations and partnerships with community leaders, state and federal government programs, related organizations, individual donors and corporate sponsors.
  • Directs and coordinates revenue generating  programs to provide funding for new or continuing operations, including oversight of all fundraising efforts.
  • Insures positive communications and relations with constituents and staff.
  • Speaks in public on behalf of WNSTL, comfortable speaking in civic, and corporate settings.
  • Manage and direct the activities of paid staff including hiring decisions; responsible for employee reviews and evaluations including progress towards individual goals and objectives.
  • Recommends annual budget working with the Finance Chair for Board approval.
  • Develops resources, researches funding sources, and writes grant proposals with Development and PR Coordinator.
  • Create and implement annual Board retreat for evaluation, goal setting, and strategic planning.
  • Supports Board Chair in setting agenda for Executive Committee and Board meetings, and provides reports of all activities to the Board.

  • Has a proven record of fund development activities and fundraising.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gather and analyze information skillfully, and effectively lead by displaying sound and accurate judgment.
  • Understand the big picture of WNSTL and the role of the Executive Director in the larger goal.

Job Specifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, nonprofit administration, public relations, or related field or equivalent work experience. Five years paid experience preferred working in a non-profit organization, community development, or other related field.
  • Demonstrated high level of adaptability to effectively manage diverse, changing and even competing task expectations.
  • Strong organization, planning, project management and implementation skills.

  • Possesses a positive outlook and can-do problem-solving attitude
  • Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions under stressful circumstances
